Letter from the VP of Membership
Dear Potential New Members,
On behalf of our organization, I would like to warmly welcome you to Transylvania University and the best 4 years of your life! I can’t begin to express how excited I am that you’ve decided to participate in Formal Recruitment this year. Greek life at Transy is one of many ways to get involved and sets you up for academic achievement, leadership development, and further integrates you with the Lexington community and beyond. While all of these perks alone are convincing enough, one of the most rewarding pieces of Greek life is the people you meet along the way. These are the people that will be standing next to you through all of life’s adventures, both good and bad.
As members of Tri Delta, we have the immense honor of working with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as our philanthropy. If you take away anything from this recruitment process, I’m positive it will be the passion and love we feel for this organization, and the children we strive to help every day. This philanthropy not only strengthens our sisterhood in an unexplainable way, but continually teaches us what it means to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. You’ll soon know us as the Triangle Girls.
As someone who wasn’t sure if she wanted to participate in greek life, let alone knew what being Greek was, I am so blessed to have been a part of the process and now a crucial piece in planning it. Being a rising senior, I’m sure I am just as scared as you, yet also so anxious to see what the future holds for the both of us. Recruitment can be an overwhelming process for everyone, but my biggest piece of advice is to hold on to who you are, what you value, and everything else that keeps you weird. This is a journey we will experience together so take a deep breath, and everything else will fall in it’s place. We’re counting down the minutes until September!
